There’s a school break for a week so here I am.

Posting something more narrative illustrations like today. My drawing style is quite Japanese- like as manga, or Japan’s comic, heavily influenced my childhood until I was in high school. Playing Role-playing game is also one of my side hobby as it’s somehow same as reading.

The one I’ve drawn above is from one of my first stories titled, Bloody Mary. Story is about a blind assassin girl forced to be one by fate. Cool, huh?

Lastly something that somehow like a music album cover.

Maybe I had talked about this before, I love typography. Probably caused by my other hobby to read stuffs and short novels also don’t forget the cliche quotes, yet it’s fun to do them

MGMT fans, yeah, I’m using their line. After all these one and a half year wondering where did this famous phrase came from, I guess I got the answer when after I listened to Katy Perry’s cover of “Electric Feel” then look more about the original artist, MGMT.

I am sorry for restricting your view of the design by adding that ugly watermarks, could someone help with understanding how to use Digimarc’s watermark system?

The last image supposed to be some pretty girl like drawing in rose, yet in the outcome I see her more as a cabbage girl. Cabbage is quite charming too, I guess.

Actually I was going to name this blog-folio “OUC”, or [oh-you-cee] an old slang of alphabets that even kids in kindergarten can do. It’s easy, simple and fun. Can stay on your mind quite a while too, right? Myself, I’m quite a typography lover too, so this kind of things has a soft spot in my interests, other that quotes and stuff.

Quite challenging as some people’s terms differ than designers. It’s quite good that my client has basic knowledge of colors, layout stuff and clear understanding of what he wanted, so it was pretty good.

Sejahtera Makmur Interona is a new construction company so the design proposals are to be more corporate than what I usually done. That point itself is another challenge for someone like me who usually designs for fun and self-entertainment.

At first, I only used “Sejahtera Makmur Interona” as their name, yet here in Indonesia we needed to put the type of business which is “P.T.” so it came out to look quite conservative. Then again, it’s common here in Indonesia and people will start to take your business seriously if you done it that way.

Then again, this is where target audience have a large influence of the design outcome, yes?

And he specially asked for a bluish color scheme. There’s an influence of Feng Shui element in all of his choices, our discussions are quite interesting, where I’d go for the information hierarchy and design appeals while he’d explain other reasons.

Overall it’s a great and exciting project to do, looking forward to do more these kind of design.

Few of you might have seen this short comic before at either my deviantArt or daPortfolio. It’s a short graphic novel made for my Narrative illustration’s project. It’s actual size is A2 and the brief only gave us 16 panels to show the story.

The main character of this comic itself is one that I often doodled from one to two years ago, he had no exact background story at all. I was planning to make him reminiscence of King of Bandit: Jing and Kino’s Journey Well, you know, those imaginative story we often daydreamed about sometimes.

He was planned to be an asian guy-like but as the sketches came out, he become more like a happy go lucky USA boy. I enjoyed drawing him and his small tours, so he might pop up again in this blog

Decided to use the monotone cause some couldn’t see the chair figure at the “H”, personally I liked the duotone one. Yet, yeah, problems aside. What do you guys think about it?
